Who I am
I’m Luis Tineo, a DevOps and infrastructure leader, hands-on the whole way.
I started as a developer and moved toward the platform underneath. I founded a DevOps department at one company, and at another I built the team the company never had. Along the way I ran my own firm and served as an interim CTO.
I’m looking for my next role leading infrastructure and delivery. You can reach me on LinkedIn.
What I work on
- Infrastructure as code. Terraform on AWS, with account governance and policy written as code too, and drift caught by checking plans against the live accounts.
- Releases. Pipelines where every change ships as a built artifact, a release takes minutes, and rolling back is one step. I’ve shipped blue-green and canary releases where they fit, and turned blue-green down where the platform’s database upgrade made it dangerous.
- Reliability and cost. SLOs set with the CTO, a disaster recovery plan tested end to end, alerts backtested before they page anyone, and an AWS bill cut by finding what nobody was using.
- AI in engineering work. Every result from AI is verified before it’s trusted, and I designed and run a team of agents with set roles, behind a command guard, a commit gate and review before merge.
- Magento and Adobe Commerce. Most of the above happened under these stores. I’m a Magento Certified Developer Plus, and I’ve spoken at Meet Magento New York.
Most of what I write about here is open source. It’s on the projects page.
